I absolutely adore this colt! Everyone asks about him–he’s got a ton of personality and presence. Sonny is mature and straightforward, with exposure to a wide range of tasks and situations. He was started as a three year old and will have about 8 months of riding come sale time. His sire, SJR One Time Angel is a money-earning and producing son of One Time Pepto.

The arena stuff:
This guy can stop! Sonny is a naturally big stopper, and it’s only going to keep getting better the older he gets. He’s also got a nice turnaround and lopes cute circles. Sonny has been a turnback horse, works a cow, has roped both the sled and pen roped, and has ponied other horses. He’s a well-rounded guy!
The outside stuff:
Sonny was raised outside and knows how to move through any kind of country. He really likes water–I get a good laugh out of how far he sticks his face in to get a drink every time we ride into the river! He crosses just about anything and is very sensible about where he puts his feet. He’s not a big horse, but he’s got a big trot and a good walk and can really cover some country. Great on his own or with other horses, this is a sensible horse that’s a lot of fun outside.
The good citizen stuff:
Sonny is sound, sane, and good to be around. He can be a bit feely on the ground, but he loves having his mane braided and is easy to saddle, shoe, bathe, and clip. He loads right up in the trailer and can back out or lead out. He gets along well with other horses, is hobble broke, and stands tied like a gentleman.
The Art of the Cowgirl Select Prospect Sale is an invitational horse sale for select 3 and 4 year old horses. The sale is open to select horsewomen that have formed a positive relationship with Art of the Cowgirl through sales or competition. Syringa Bend is honored to be included among an elite group of horsewomen and outstanding horses!
The sale will be held on January 20th in Queen Creek, AZ as part of the Art of the Cowgirl. Phone and online bidding is available in addition to in-person.
